5 Tips for putting toddlers to Sleep.
A toddler is a naughty bundle of joy. A sleeping one looks more cute.
The whole
house is quitened once they sleep. Parents breathe a sigh of relief when they
are put off to bed.
Here are 5 simple tips to put them to
sleep
1. Try and follow a routine for their sleep as well as food.
Everyday wake them up at a particular time. If you yourself have a routine schedule and get up early in the morning, it will be an easy task for them too.
2. Afternoon nap is a must. The younger ones sleep for about 2 to 3 hours.
The older ones would be freshened up with one hour of sleep.
3. Feed them at fixed timings, they automatically start getting hungry at those times.
If they eat well, it helps to doze off.
4. The night sleep time should be fixed. Everyone at home should be in their beds at that time.
Switch off the lights and make it a norm, that once the lights are off we have to sleep.
5. Too much of screen time before bed is not good. Watching one or max 2 videos for about 4 to 5 mins is OK.
After that the mobiles
are to be put away. You can ask them about events of that day or tell them
stories.
If your child is not sleeping well don't worry. It is sometimes difficult to set a disturbed routine right. It will take time.
Make sure your child is getting enough calcium. If not you can give calcium syrups too. Calcium deficiency too can make them grumpy and irritable at night.
You should always remember children look up to parents and try to follow them.
Similarly, unknowingly they pick up your sleep
habits too. So if you have good sleeping habits, they too will get theirs.
